Pensioner ‘stabbed young Filipino bride after jealous argument over salsa’

Pensioner Robert Brindley stabbed their young Filipino spouse five times in a rage that is jealous their wedding broke down following arguments about salsa dance classes, a court heard.

Brindley attacked his diminutive spouse Precious with a home blade, stabbing her repeatedly within the straight back.

The court had been told Brindley, 66, from Teignmouth, Devon ended up being «possessive and jealous» over their spouse, who had been aged inside her «20s» during the period of the assault.

On Monday, Exeter Crown Court heard Mrs Brindley collapsed into the flooring and she heard her husband shouting: «That’s it, that’s the way to die, listening to your music as she regained consciousness. Shall we stab you through the center or shall I call an ambulance?»

Brindley has rejected one count of attempted murder on June 1, 2008.
